Food: 4/5 (we didn't wait long, not worth waiting long periods of time for)
Parking: 4/5 - It has its own lot, well lit, but with prevalent loiterers.... Shelby doesn't appreciate those that are waiting around for "no purpose"
THINGS TO KNOW
Reservations: LOL No, wait in line with the rest of the peasants. Don't even think about joining your friends inside without judging looks from the door bouncer.... JK be a rebel like Shelby and go around the patio, avoiding eye contact with the bouncer.
Must Try: Rony, Roni, Rone!, Smokin' Herb with Smoked Chicken and Pineapple Chipotle BBQ (Alex's creation)
Meh: Smokin' Herb with Smoked Salmon (Alex's creation)
Sips
Pineapple Fanta: Reminded Megan of her African safari, since that's the first time she had a pineapple Fanta. Oh the lions, giraffes, and elephants... Shelby wasn't reminded of anything but liked it.
House Lager: If Shelby's memory serves her correctly, she says, "At first Alex didn't like the lager, but after reflection realized he doesn't like lagers, so it was 'perfectly fine'." Once we checked in with Alex.... (see his text response below) Apparently we can trust Shelby's memory.
Savory
Rony, Roni, Rone!: Classic red sauce, S+H house cheese blend, pork pepperoni, beef pepperoni, and spiced pepperoni. Shelby loves pepperoni pizza and this may be the best one. Best. Pepperoni. Pizza. Keep the Roni's coming! Will be getting this pizza next time.
Smokin' Herb with Smoked Chicken and Pineapple Chipotle BBQ: The white sauce is slammin', S+H house cheese blend, spinach, red onions, mushrooms with smoked chicken. Alex took creative freedom on this one and split half chicken and salmon (we will get to the salmon). This smoked chicken with the pineapple BBQ sauce delish. Our hats went off to Alex on this one. The right smoked, sweet, and pizza combo. For this pizza alone Alex will be invited back for special guest appearances.
Smokin' Herb with Smoked Salmon: Our hats went back on quickly after trying the other half of Alex' s "creation". Salmon on a pizza... not today son. Most of you might already have the common sense to not make this costly mistake but if not then, DON'T ADD THE SMOKED SALMON!
California Love (as is): Spinach basil pesto, S+H house cheese blend, artichokes, sliced tomatoes, and red onion. Megan doesn't even remember this one and it was half of her "creation" . Shelby thinks she remembers liking this one... but lets be real if you don't remember him then don't call him back. But for realz, a good pizza option if you are lazy and don't want to create your own.
California Love with Philly Steak and Spinach Basil Pesto: The same stuff as the regular California Love but with Philly steak and pesto added. This was Megan's creation. Megan liked it, go figure. I doubt she would say she didn't like it since she created it. Shelby says it was okay. We think Alex liked it but he is married to Megan so can we really trust him? (Shelby says no) #trustnoone
Sweet
Ok well they are supposed to have cinnamon rolls and Megan was just as excited about their cinnamon rolls as the pizza. BUT nooooooo there were no cinnamon rolls since they were opening the Roll Out the next week (their cinnamon roll and carry out pizza place). So we will have to make another risky journey out to Buchanan Street (you know the undefined area outside Germantown). #prayforus #safetyfirst
In Conclusion
So the word on the street was that you have to wait outside for 2 hours to get a pizza at this joint. So being the realistic impatient millennials that we are, Megan packed snacks and Shelby packed a book. Let's be real we acted like we were getting ready for Armageddon. Maybe word on the street can't be trusted, or maybe Friday night at 8 o'clock is just a good time to go; but we were able to wait, create our masterpieces, and eat within an hour. If we had to wait any longer I'm sure there wouldn't be as many praises. Ok now we were in love with the 90's throwback of this place. The music was on point, as was the movie showing on the brick wall. Overall, a fun Friday night with friends. #alliteration
