RATINGS

Atmosphere: 3/5

Food: 2/5

Parking: 5/5 (free garage and plenty of street parking)

THINGS TO KNOW

Reservations: Yes (Open Table)

Must Try: risotto balls

Meh: everything else

Sips

Bellini: had a nice, light peach flavor. Peachy, a bellini.

Savory

Crispy Risotto Balls: mozzarella, grana padano, herb aioli, marinara. These were really good. Had a nice, fried crispy shell, and warm gooey inside. It was the pure definition of what a risotto ball should be. Group consensus was that the marinara sauce was delicious. Shelby consensus was that the herb aioli was delicious.

Lasagna: 'Verde Bolognese', spinach pasta, mozzarella, bechamel. Out of the ~Italian~ dishes presented, this was the best one. We aren't saying it's the best lasagna we've ever had...not by a long shot.

Italian Ramen: spaghettini, soft cooked egg, chicken, basil, grana padano. This ramen has never been to Rome. Or Europe. Or Japan. It was just, eh, ramen. If you're craving ramen, either go buy the cheapo Walmart version and splurge on some wine, or go to Two Ten Jack.

Pappardelle: smoked pork, apples, marscarpone. So disappointing. Megan was deciding between two options and this was the waitress's reco. Won't be making that mistake again. Pork had good flavor. Noodles were sticky and overcooked. Sauce was weird. Think plastic-y. Yeah. Won't be ordering that again, but you're more than welcome to go and decide for yourself.

Strozzapreti: 'Pastaria Bolognese', grana padano. The only amazing thing about this dish was the amount that April ate. Not good. Nope.

Roasted Carrots: lemon, mint. I mean, these were fine. It's hard to mess up cooked carrots. But they weren't Butcher and Bee's carrots. Or Barcelona Wine Bar's carrots.

Brussel Sprouts: lemon, chili. These were also fine. They deliver on expectations. But they aren't Cork and Cow's Brussel sprouts, or Americano's Brussel sprouts. This post is quickly turning into recos for other restaurants #sorrynotsorry

Margherita Pizza: tomato, mozzarella, basil. So we actually ordered the fennel salami pizza, but they brought us the wrong one. And it took like forever for them to bring it out, so we didn't say anything. It was just your average pizza. Nothing special.

Sweets

We were so tainted by the appetizers and main course that we didn't even have the energy to order dessert. And we are a sweet tooth group. We alllwwwaaays order dessert. But not here.

In Conclusion

Disappointed. And slightly angry. We sat at this place for two hours...because that's how long it took them to serve all our food. And the food wasn't even good. If it takes that long, you should probably be tasting it before you send it out. Apparently they have a bread bar, but our waitress never mentioned it, we didn't get to try it. We thought it was just a stingy Italian place that doesn't serve you free bread. So if you are craving meh Italian, come here. If you want Italian that actually tastes good, dine at any of these other fine establishments: Rolf and Daughters, Nicky's, Amerigo's, Maggianos, Coco's, Bella Nappoli, Carabbas, Romano's Macaroni Grill (and you can draw on the table), Olive Garden, Fazolis, Sabarro, etc.
